General Information:

  • Jasione laevis Blue Light, or Sheep’s-bit, is a perennial with clusters of blue flowers atop slender stems.

Flowering Time:

  • Flowers in late spring to early autumn, providing color and attracting pollinators.

Soil Type:

  • Thrives in well-drained, sandy or loamy soil with good drainage and moderate fertility.

Position:

  • Requires full sun and well-drained soil for optimal growth, suitable for rock gardens and borders.

Height and Spread:

  • Grows up to 12 inches tall and spreads about 12-18 inches wide, forming compact mounds.

Top Tips:

  • Deadhead spent flowers to prolong blooming.
  • Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
  • Shear back after flowering to encourage tidy growth.
